The Customer's Story
During the pandemic breakout in 2020, Sandra had no option but to adopt
the “working from home” lifestyle that was being implemented during
lockdown. She knew these changes weren’t going to be temporary and
confining her personal and professional lives to the same physical space
was anything but a piece of cake. The space that was once enough for
her day-to-day responsibilities was now becoming too small. Sandra
began to consider the possibility of selling her studio flat and investing in
a more spacious property. However, the financial crisis hampered her
plans, as the offers she got were significantly below the actual value of the
property.
Solution
After several attempts to sell the property, she came up with a brilliant
idea: contact an Airbnb management expert to deal with the property and
start generating revenue from short-term lettings. A friend, Eddie, who also
owns a studio in the same area, knew about us and decided to introduce
her to our founder Eli Santos. After meeting for a coffee and a property
inspection, they decided to give it a makeover by changing some old
furniture to brand new ones and making the place more comfortable and
attractive for passing-by guests.
Results
Once the studio was listed in 2018, the property has been generating an
average of £4,000 a month. With the proceeds of short-term rentals,
Sandra is now paying off her studio’s mortgage and renting a much bigger
flat from which she can conciliate her personal and professional life
perfectly.
